No Radiation or Tracer

Ultrasound creates detailed images using sound waves — not ionizing radiation or radioactive material.

Advanced Samsung Imaging

High-resolution ultrasound and Doppler imaging using the Samsung RS85 Prestige.

Focused Organ Evaluation

Choose a complete abdominal examination or a focused liver, kidney, or bladder study.

Physician-Interpreted Results

Every completed examination is reviewed by a qualified physician, with a written report.

Why Ultrasound?

Detailed Imaging With a Lighter Patient Experience

Ultrasound provides real-time information about abdominal organs and blood flow without radiation, radioactive tracers, or an enclosed scanning environment.

Noninvasive Imaging

Most examinations are performed externally using a handheld ultrasound transducer.

Quick Outpatient Visit

Many routine studies are completed in approximately 30 to 45 minutes.

Little to No Downtime

Patients can generally return to normal activities immediately after the examination.

Clinically Useful Information

Ultrasound can identify structural findings that may require monitoring, treatment, or additional evaluation.
Who It May Be For

Consider Organ Ultrasound When Clinically Appropriate

Different ultrasound examinations evaluate different organs and anatomical areas. The appropriate study is selected based on your physician's order, symptoms, medical history, and clinical review.

Abdominal Examinations

  • Complete Abdominal Ultrasound
  • Right Upper Quadrant Ultrasound
  • Limited Abdominal Ultrasound
  • Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Ultrasound
  • Post-Operative Abdominal Ultrasound
  • Focused Abdominal Follow-Up Ultrasound

Liver & Gallbladder Examinations

  • Liver Ultrasound
  • Right Upper Quadrant Ultrasound

  • Liver Elastography, when available and clinically appropriate

Kidney & Urinary Examinations

  • Renal Ultrasound
  • Kidney and Bladder Ultrasound
  • Bladder Ultrasound
  • Bladder Ultrasound with Post-Void Residual

  • Transplanted Kidney Evaluation

These examinations are not interchangeable. For example, a Complete Abdominal Ultrasound evaluates a broader group of organs than a focused Right Upper Quadrant Ultrasound. Liver elastography is offered when available and clinically appropriate, as an adjunct to standard liver imaging. Our team will confirm the correct examination before your appointment.

Responsible Imaging

Ultrasound Is Powerful — but It Is Not Every Test

Ultrasound provides valuable information for many abdominal and organ-related concerns, but it cannot visualize every condition or replace CT, MRI, laboratory testing, endoscopy, or specialist evaluation when those are clinically appropriate. When your results or symptoms call for additional evaluation, we provide clear, documented referral guidance.

Your Appointment

What to Expect

0.1

Before Your Visit

Preparation depends on the examination. Some abdominal studies require fasting, while bladder imaging may require drinking water and arriving with a full bladder. Preparation for a Complete Abdominal Ultrasound may differ from preparation for an RUQ, renal, bladder, or vascular study — you'll receive the specific instructions for your examination when your appointment is confirmed.

0.2

During the Examination

A trained sonographer applies ultrasound gel and moves a transducer over the area being evaluated.

0.3

After the Examination

You can generally resume normal activities immediately. A qualified physician reviews the images and prepares a written report.
