Clinical Coordination & Referral Support

Some advanced imaging programs require a referral under New York State guidelines. Our on-site licensed clinical team is available to assist with appropriate evaluation and care coordination prior to imaging, ensuring a smooth and responsible experience.

What Is Ultrasound Elastography?

The same clinical signal as MRI without the tube or the bill.

Standard ultrasound shows anatomy. Shear Wave Elastography goes further — it measures how stiff tissue is. Abnormal or cancerous tissue is typically firmer than healthy tissue surrounding it.

The Samsung RS85 Prestige applies a gentle mechanical impulse and tracks how fast the resulting wave travels through tissue. Stiffer areas carry waves faster — producing a real-time, color-coded stiffness map. Quantitative, precise, and immediately visible.

Non-invasive

No needles, no radiation, no contrast agents. The transducer rests gently on the skin. The entire exam takes approximately 15 minutes.

Open Table

Unlike MRI, there is no enclosed tube. Patients lie on an open, comfortable table. Ideal for those with claustrophobia or metal implants.

High fMRI Technology

Shear Wave Elastography achieves clinically comparable tissue characterization to MRI for prostate and breast evaluation, at a fraction of the time and cost.

Real-Time Tissue Mapping

Stiffness Maps That Show You the Answer

The RS85 Prestige creates a color-coded stiffness map of prostate and breast tissue in real time. Physicians can identify focal areas of concern during the exam — not days later.
  • Real-time quantitative stiffness measurements (kPa)
  • Color-coded tissue map — instantly readable
  • No radiation, no contrast, no enclosure
  • Comparable diagnostic signal to MRI elastography
  • Physician-reviewed, same visit

Why This Matters

Traditional imaging comes with costs that simply don't need to be.

MRI and PET-CT are powerful — but for many routine prostate and breast evaluations, they bring thousands of dollars in cost, weeks of waiting, and the stress of an enclosed tube. Most people are told this is the only way. It isn't.

Who May Benefit from This Screening

Helping identify the right patients for each screening program, with physician referral options available when appropriate.

Prostate Screening · For Men

Precision Prostate Evaluation

$350 Flat Fee · All Inclusive

For men with elevated PSA or MRI intolerance.Shear Wave Elastography maps prostate tissue stiffness in real time — helping physicians identify focal areas of concern that standard ultrasound may miss., without ever entering a tube.

Ideal for men who have

  • Elevated or rising PSA levels
  • Implants restricting MRI eligibility
  • Claustrophobia or MRI intolerance
  • Questions before considering biopsy

Breast Screening · For Women

Precision Breast Evaluation

$350 Flat Fee · All Inclusive

A non-compressive alternative or supplement to mammography — especially valuable for women with dense breast tissue. No compression, no radiation, no enclosed space. Real-time stiffness mapping on an open, comfortable table.

Ideal for women who have

  • Dense breast tissue or inconclusive mammogram
  • Preference for non-compressive imaging
  • Questions before considering biopsy
  • Need for faster scheduling

What to Expect

What to Expect During Your Screening

1

Open Table, No Tube

You'll lie on a comfortable open table. No confinement, no loud MRI noises, no contrast injection required.

2

Gel Application & Scanning

A small amount of ultrasound gel is applied. The transducer is gently moved across the area — imaging is typically painless.

3

15 Minutes Total

The physician is present throughout and will guide you. Both prostate and breast screenings can be performed in the same visit.

4

Immediate Preliminary Insights

A technologist and physician review findings before you leave. Results can be communicated to your referring physician.

Before Your Scan

How to Prepare

Day of Your Scan

  • Avoid caffeine, as it can affect your fMRI results
  • Remove all jewelry, watches, and metal accessories
  • Wear comfortable clothing without metal (zippers, underwire)
  • Arrive credit card, phone, and electronics secured

Tell Us Before Your Scan

  • Pacemaker, defibrillator, or any implanted device
  • Cochlear implants, aneurysm clips, or metal fragments

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between elastography and a standard MRI?
A standard MRI shows brain structure — which areas are active, moving during specific tasks. Shear Wave Elastography measures tissue stiffness in real time, allowing physicians to detect focal abnormalities that may require further evaluation — without the constraints of traditional MRI. It delivers comparable clinical information in 15 minutes on an open table, at a fraction of the cost.
What kind of tasks will I do during the scan?
There are no tasks required. You simply lie still on a comfortable open table while the physician gently moves the transducer over the area being evaluated. The scan is passive — no noise, no confinement, no contrast agents.
Can both prostate and breast screenings be done in the same visit?
Yes. Both screenings can be scheduled and completed in the same visit. Each is approximately 15 minutes, and both are $350 each. Most appointments are available within 2–4 days, and both can often be scheduled within a single session.
Is this covered by insurance?
This program is offered at a $350 flat fee with no insurance required. Most insurance plans do not cover elective ultrasound elastography screenings; however, the flat-fee model means no surprise bills and no pre-authorization delays. We recommend speaking with your insurance provider about possible reimbursement options.
How long does the scan take?
Each screening is approximately 15 minutes. Both prostate and breast evaluations can be completed in the same visit. Total time including check-in and preliminary results discussion is typically under an hour.
Will I need contrast dye?
No. Shear Wave Elastography uses only ultrasound — no radiation, no contrast agents, no injections of any kind. It is entirely non-invasive and safe for patients with implants or those who cannot receive MRI contrast.
